a time of
narrow ranges
with a predicted
high of 4 and
low of 8 degrees
below zero.
Listening to the
wind and snow
beyond the bed-
room, we ponder
our restricted
options to insure
the waiting head
can traverse the
narrow pelvis.
But a live birth will broaden our perspective
to suit the expanse of the springtime prairie.
